The beach (which, together with the lagoon and the island forms part of the Ria Formosa natural park) is a short walk away and all village amenities are within easy walking distance of the villa. These include:- Supermarkets and minimarkets, flower and vegetable shops, butchers, bakers, car hire, bank, laundry, health centre and, of course, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. (Go to Cabanosh to read about some local pubs and restaurants) There are two children's playgrounds situated within easy walking distance of the property, and a skateboard park for older children. A reliable babysitter can be provided if required. There is also a local produce and fish market. The nearest supermarket (and ATM machine) is just across the main road. Internet access is available at Pedras da Rainha reception (1.5€ / ¼hr) C.R.C on the front (1.5€ / hr) The railway station is a short distance up the road, with regular services along the coast from Faro to Vila Real de Santo António, from where a short ferry trip takes you across the river Guadiana to the little town of Ayamonte on Spain's Costa de la Luz. The Benamor golf club on the N125 road welcomes visiting players, and there several other courses within a short driving distance.
